Family Support Worker

Catherine Sullivan Centre (CSC) is proud to be able to offer a Family Support Worker who is available to all families accessing the CSC service. This is facilitated through CSC's partnership with CatholicCare.

What is CatholicCare?

CatholicCare Family Support is a community based program funded by the NSW Government Family and Community Services (FaCS) and the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.

What does CatholicCare do?

They provide advice and support to families who are experiencing difficulties, such as:

·         housing

·         parenting

·         isolation

·         breakdown in relationships

·         drug and alcohol misuse

·         domestic / family violence

·         mental health

The program aims to increase the use of positive parenting practices, strengthen relationships, improve knowledge of local services and expand parents support networks.

How does this work at CSC?

A Family Support Worker (FSW) works in partnership with the CSC staff at Catherine Sullivan Centre. She supports families based on their specific needs. This support can be through phone calls, home visits and/or outreach at Catherine Sullivan Centre.

The FSW provides as much or as little support as needed through information sharing, referrals to other services, counselling, group work and advocacy.

She works with families in the short term, such as one off support, or longer term for 3-6 months.

For more information, chat to our Family Support Worker at WAVES each Wednesday.
